The latest seasonal allocation for February 2021 have been announced by the Storage Manager.
Inflow to reservoirs during January remained below average. However, above average rainfall resulted in evaporation losses being lower than the Storage Manager’s conservative estimates. This has enabled an increase to Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline product allocations from 52% to 56% this month.
Glenelg River Compensation Flow entitlement remains at 1% allocation. No allocation has been possible to Recreation, Wetlands or Commonwealth Environmental entitlements.
The Storage Manager has released its third quarterly operating plan supplement for January to March 2021. This supplement accompanies the Annual Operating Plan and looks specifically at reservoir system operation over the upcoming 3-month period. Inflows to reservoirs during October (29,100 ML) were near average, reflecting around 50% of the total inflow received since July. This volume of inflow has supported a strong increase to Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline product allocations this month.
The allocation for Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline Product entitlements has increased from 21% to 48% this month. Glenelg River Compensation Flow entitlement has received a 1% allocation. No allocation has been possible to Recreation, Wetlands or Commonwealth Environmental entitlements.

Inflows to reservoirs continue to track well below average, with around 14,780 ML of inflow received during September (33% of the monthly average). This volume has supported a further increase to allocations this month, being the largest monthly increase for the season so far.

Inflows to reservoirs continue to track well below average, with around 10,200 ML of inflow received to reservoirs during August (20% of the monthly average). This small inflow to reservoirs has enabled a further increase to allocations this month.
The allocation for Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline Product entitlements has increased from 2% to 9% this month. No allocation has been possible to Glenelg River Compensation Flow, Recreation, Wetlands or Commonwealth Environmental entitlements. Bulk entitlement holders collectively have access to approximately 107,000 ML of unused water allocation carried forward from 2019-20 year.

Around 5,500 ML of inflow was received to reservoirs during July. This has been sufficient to secure all headworks system operating water requirements for the 2020 season, and make an initial allocation to some entitlements.
