Current water restrictions |
Safe to drink? No The water is not safe for drinking. However, you can still use this water for household activities, such as watering gardens, flushing toilets, irrigation and laundry. You can also use it for showering or bathing, as long as you're careful to avoid swallowing the water. Read more about living with an untreated water supply here. Please note that a drinking water upgrade is planned for the town and we will advise when the town has been converted to a drinking water supply. Customers can connect to the current non-drinking water supply and will be automatically converted to a drinking water supply when the project is completed. |
Water supplyYour water comes from the Murray River at Swan Hill. Your water is piped to you through the Wimmera Mallee Pipeline (Supply System 5). The Wimmera Mallee Pipeline replaced 17,500 km of inefficient channels to ensure a more secure and healthy water supply for the region. It supplies water to approximately 9,000 farms and 34 townships. |
